I had no questions about what E would dress up as this year. From the minute he got his super awesome specs, I've called him Clark... as in Clark Kent. And voila, a costume formed. The more I looked at home, the more I realized we had everything to make the costume without buying a thing. Plus!!
So the day started early with a trip to daddy's office. E swooped in and twirled with his cape (yes, he couldn't decide if he was Clark or in the Superman transition. I picked my battle and decided it didn't matter!) The ladies swooned over him and he loved every minute of it. After a little time there, dad jumped in the car with us and we headed to TARC to trick or treat. This is where you saw the light go on for him. He carried his bucket with both hands, said "Happy" when he got to a stop and thank you when they handed him a treat.
He and I tried to make a few more stops that morning, but it just got too compact. But we ended the morning at our usual stop, Capper Foundation, for OT and Speech. He marched in with his bucket in hand and trick or treated through their building as we got to our therapy room.
A good nap was had by all that afternoon where we headed BACK out for the night and headed to Potwin to meet up with some friends from KC.
It was a busy day, and a late night, but it was so fun to see the Halloween magic in Ethan's face. I'm sure if I had let him he would have slept in his cape. The saying, "what a difference a year makes" reigns true in our family when it comes to the holidays. This is just the start.
Until next time!
E
