If I haven't said it before, I love the month of October! Everything about it. The changing of the leaves, the cooler temperatures during the day, the fact it's the month for the color Orange, Halloween and pumpkins!
One of my favorite family traditions is to load up in the car and head out in our quest for the Great McGee Pumpkin for the year. Last Sunday we did just that. We discovered the Schaake Pumpkin patch on the way east side of Lawrence last year and decided it was a great so we went back.
It's amazing how much of a difference a year can make! Last year E wasn't walking and we were trying hard to get him to just touch a pumpkin on his own. This year, he high stepped through the pumpkin vines laughing and carrying on like he was the only one there. At one point I looked back and found him sitting on a pumpkin just his size.
As we walked through, we picked up pumpkins that we thought would work for carving and display. E kept great care of the stash while dad inspected every side of each one. I think E was quite proud of his duties.
We then decided to grab a few other pictures around the farm.
You are how tall?
