Belly Laughing

Today Ethan had a follow up appointment with one of his NICU specialists. He was such a trooper.  Slept through the first run of tests, then woke up to eat and play for a bit but started to fuss when the doctor was taking what felt like FOREVER to read his results and come meet with us. But we finally had our appointment and were sent to the lab to have some blood drawn. E was sound asleep and had absolutely no idea what was about to happen.

Chris, E and I waited about 10 minutes and we heard "Ethan McGee" being called from the door. The moment had come... time to wake the little guy up to have a turnocate on his arm and poking to find a vein. E opened his eyes, batted his long eye lashes and immediately had everyone wrapped around his little finger.
The needle was in, the blood was drawn and E never shed a tear. I had more trouble with this than I did with his shots at 2 months! When it was all said and done, Chris and I had prepared for him to whale with crying... instead, we got the biggest belly laugh ever! And he didn't stop. It was the second time ever that he had done the belly laugh. Once he realizes he's laughing, he just realy likes it. So, today he had all the ladies in the lab oohing and aahing over him and laughing right along.

See below from his first laughing experience. It was bathtime and by the time we got the camera to tape it, he had been going for a few minutes. Chris was laughing so hard he was practically crying and I was just dying too. It was a hoot of a good bath!

E is getting to be so big and such a little man. Couldn't ask for anything better.

Until next time!
E
