Fiesta Mexicana started July 13 and like it always has happened, the week of the Fiesta was the hottest on tap for Topeka yet this summer. But, as we always do, a few friends took off to enjoy good friends, fantastic food and a few margaritas! After walking through the Fiesta it was time to take a walk through the midway and marvel at the kids who enjoy the crazy carnival rides. I am not one of those who will partake in portable carnival rides. I really can't tell if it is the ride, or some of the operators that scare me more. But it was there, that I learned something new about my husband... he had never tried a funnel cake. After growing up in Hutchinson, Kansas and hanging out at the State Fair how many times, he had never tried the greatness of a funnel cake. Thank goodness the rest of us were up to the test.
Thursday, July 15 marked the 1st Annual Shawnee County Largest Workout. It was a lot of fun! Over 500 people of all shapes, sizes and walks of life came together at Yager Stadium to participate in a 45 minute workout. Oh the sun was blazing and it was quite warm, but everyone really got into it! Since last week I also restarted a regular workout regiem, it was pretty cool to participate on Thursday. There's proof that I was present! Wanna see some pictures? Go to page 7 here.
The weekend was pretty low key. We are cleaning and gearing up for some special little visitors the first weekend of August. Yep, Sarah and Andrew are coming while Greg and Debbie head to Hutch for Greg's 20-year high school reunion! More details on that later.
Anyway, here is a picture of Chris and I from a recent wedding in Colorado (up in the Red Rocks). Beautiful setting, beautiful weather, and we were honored to be part of the bride and groom's day!
Until next time!
